I hope everyone is enjoying Pennant Fever. In this month's newsletter, I am profiling the Near North Area. Near North consists of several sub-neighborhoods including: Streeterville, River North, Gold Coast, and the southern end of Old Town. The Near North Area primarily runs from the Chicago River on the south to North Avenue on the north and from Lake Michigan on the east to the North Branch of the Chicago River on the west. Due to close proximity to Chicago's Loop, adjacency to Lake Michigan and the home of Michigan Avenue, the Near North Side is arguably the most desirable urban neighborhood in the Midwest. Below are market surveys for Near North single-family homes and condos.
Lofts, High-rises, town-homes and single-family mansions can all be found throughout the Near North Area. However, the Near North neighborhoods have their own distinct character. Streeterville, with busy streets and sidewalks, reminds many of Manhattan. The Gold Coast, with sweeping views of Oak and North Avenue Beaches, is a quintessential high-end Chicago neighborhood. River North and Old Town are not only considered to be desirable places to live but also to have fun in their many restaurants, clubs, and bars. Over 50 projects are currently under-construction in this area, with more being announced weekly. Lofts are typically located near the North Branch of the Chicago River. Several town home developments are currently underway in Old Town. Most of the new development in Streeterville and in the Gold Coast has been high-rise and mid-rise condominium buildings along with some vintage conversion projects. |
